Celtic Traverse is an iconic, eight day adventure across Ireland. Run ancient trails and pathways through some of the most stunning natural scenery in the world and at night enjoy the fantastic hospitality Ireland is famous for. Book your great Irish adventure now!

The 2019 event will include three unique base locations, set in spectacular surroundings deep in the heart of the emerald isle.

Base 1: Glendalough, County Wicklow is world-renowned for its historical sites and is an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are nearby preserved early medieval monastic settlements, founded in the 6th century by St Kevin. The local scenery is unrivalled, with mountains, rivers and waterfalls surrounding the magnificent Glendalough lake.

Base 2: The Ballyhoura Mountains are located in south-east Limerick in the heart of the historic province of Munster. The area is famous for its walking and running trails where you can view stunning panoramas and mountain vistas. Lots of great photo opportunities with castle ruins, wide open lakes and meandering rivers in this unique location.

Base 3: Sneem, Ring of Kerry, County Kerry. Few villages are surrounded by the same rugged beauty as the picturesque village of Sneem which is neatly set on the shores of Kenmare Bay and on the estuary of the River Sneem. The village centre is teeming with brightly coloured shop facades and cafes and a warm welcome awaits from the people of the Kingdom of Kerry.

This unique event is planned and managed by Primal Challenges, one of Ireland’s premier events companies, Primal Challenges. Our experienced team will ensure that your journey across Ireland will take you to places where few Irish people have even ventured. Expect deserted ancient pathways, breathtaking scenery and some of the best trails you have ever run across. This is truly an adventure of a lifetime, on foot, across Ireland and one certainly not to be missed.
